Lions: No Calls For Roy Williams

Jun 15, 2014 2:04 AM

Despite rumors that the Lions could deal disgruntled wide receiver Roy Williams before the Oct. 14 trade deadline, the team claims they haven't received calls about him. Lions' chief operating officer Tom Lewand said Monday that no teams have called inquiring about Williams. "I wouldn't call either. Eight catches, 113 yards, and one touchdown - I wouldn't call either," said Williams. "I heard the buzz in the off-season, but I haven't heard anything (recently). That's why it makes it easier for me to concentrate on what we do." Williams expects to be in Detroit through the season. "I've been expecting to be here. That hasn't changed at all," he said.

Gonzalez Could See Himself Asking For Trade

Jun 3, 2014 6:16 PM

Chiefs' tight end Tony Gonzalez loves it in Kansas City, but could see himself asking management for a trade to a Super Bowl contender, according to NFL.com. "Yeah. I definitely could, but I love being a Chief," Gonzalez said Wednesday. "But if it was something where it was going to take three or four years or whatever before they get this thing right, I think it would be in their best interest to maybe see what they can get and send me off. But I love being a Chief, and I couldn?t imagine being anywhere else at this point. At the end of this season, hopefully I don?t have to ask that. Hopefully, we get this thing turned around. I?ve got a family now. I came here when I just turned 21, so this is home. That?s where I?m at right now with that." Gonzalez is in his 12th NFL season, all with Kansas City.

Boldin's Agent: Trade Only Option

Nov 27, 2014 1:06 PM

Anquan Boldin's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said Friday that Plaxico Burress' new contract with the Giants won't affect the situation for the Cardinals' receiver. "Anquan's position right now has been well-documented," Rosenhaus said. "He's not interested in doing a new contract with the team. That (Burress' deal) will have no bearing on his situation." Rosenhaus said Boldin won't be re-signing with the Cardinals. "Essentially that bridge has been blown up," Rosenhaus said. "He's looking to play as hard as he can for the club, for his teammates, but the sooner he is traded the better." Boldin has requested a trade and would like to be dealt before the Oct. 14 trading deadline, Rosenhaus said. If a trade isn't made by then, "we are banking on that happening this off-season," Rosenhaus said. "He (Boldin) has said to me that will not change."

Lito Still Looking To Get Out Of Philly

Oct 29, 2014 12:56 AM

Cornerback Lito Sheppard still wants to be traded from the Eagles after an entire offseason of discontent, according to Philadelphia Daily News. Sheppard, even with super-agent Drew Rosenhaus, hasn't been able to persuade the Eagles to trade him. "I think my role is still undetermined right now," Sheppard said. "I feel fine, I feel great, I feel healthy, I feel ready to play this season, but as to my role, that has yet to be determined . . . Me not starting, that's the biggest propaganda." Sheldon Brown and Asante Samuel will start at cornerback for the Eagles heading into the season.
